Aimee + Cassidy
January 21 | Big Sky, Montana
As I cogitate the plans and possibilities for my first wedding of 2016, I can’t help but think of other wintry shoots I’ve loved. It’s nearly impossible to believe a year has passed since I first met Aimee and Cassidy to help them plan their Montana wedding and take their winter engagement photos.
As the engagement session was the first time we’d met in person, Aimee and Cassidy joined me at Moonlight Lodge in Big Sky for a little get-to-know-you session before our snowy adventure. (Afterall, being photographed is intimidating. It’s important to me to know more than your name before I point my big guns in your direction.)
My love for a sentimental story made it all too easy to fall in love with Aimee’s and Cassidy’s, which began with a bet. After meeting Aimee for the first time at a social gathering, Cassidy knew he had to see her again. However, Aimee’s early departure from the party forced Cassidy to be creative. Knowing money talks, Cassidy bet a mutual friend that she would never introduce him to Aimee again. Several months of waiting and $100 later, Cassidy took Aimee on their first date. Two and a half years later, he bent his knee on a private dock in Jamaica.
Their engagement session was just as playful as their love story. Between dancing, throwing snowballs, and sledding, they gave my gear quite the workout.
As the afternoon sun skimmed the pines, I wrapped up the session with Aimee and Cassidy standing toe to toe in their favorite team gear.
Stay tuned. If you love their engagement session, wait until you see their wedding!
